General Information
The Sheriff and his staff are required to follow strict federal guidelines when performing necessary procedures for fingerprinting. During the application process, you will be asked to schedule an appointment. Please note that you will be asked to pay now to reserve your appointment.
Pricing
- County residents are not charged for the first two cards, or electronic submission of their fingerprints. Anything above the first two cards will incur a $5 per card fee along with a service fee.
- Those who reside outside of Haywood county will be charged $20 for either electronic submission or two fingerprint cards, and an additional $5 for each card above two.
- Fingerprinting will be processed by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Please make sure you are on time for your appointment. Please bring Valid NC issued Photo ID to your appointment. If you are late you will have to reschedule.

Fingerprinting Requirements: must meet ALL requirements
If you are obtaining fingerprints that require electronic submission to the SBI, please make sure you receive the Electronic Submission form from the agency requesting that you be fingerprinted. If you do not have these forms we cannot fingerprint you.
The Sheriff’s Office offers this online service as a convenience to the community. In addition to the fingerprint fee, you will be charged a $5.00 service fee. The service fee is not collected by the Sheriff. This fee is paid to Permitium, the company that provides this order, payment and processing system to the public.

You must accurately indicate your residence and fingerprint needs at the time of application. You will also be able to choose an appointment with the Sheriff's Office for your fingerprinting session.
